Understanding the problem

Here I’ll walk you through the problem, user pain points, and the solution behind Mamam – and below, you can dive into the full UX research.

THE PROBLEM

Parents want to give their children the healthiest possible start, but trusted guidance isn’t always easy to access. Between endless social media content, scattered articles, and expensive courses, parents are left overwhelmed by conflicting information.

USER PAIN POINTS

• ” I keep making the same meals over and over again”

• “I’m not sure what’s actually good for my baby”

• “I don’t have time to search through recipes articles and social media every day”

THE SOLUTION

After researching parents’ behaviors and existing solutions, I designed Mamam – a product that supports families from their baby’s first bite to everyday meal planning years later. One place for recipes, education, and confidence.

THE RESEARCH

A deeper dive into interviews, insights, personas and key findings that helped define the product direction  →

The product

Mamam brings together recipes, nutritional education, ingredient knowledge, and weekly meal planning – all in one place

From Design to Build

After completing the prototype, I wanted to take things further  beyond a static design file.

Using Lovable and Claude, I built Mamam into a fully functional PWA. The app includes a working dashboard, a content management system for recipes, ingredients, and articles, and is currently being tested with real users

Conclusion

WHAT I LEARNED

Building a product independently – from idea to development

• Understanding the impact of aesthetics, consistent spacing, and hierarchy on the overall experience

• Learning how to move between beautiful ideas and the right user experience decisions

• Learning how to take a content-heavy product and make it feel simple, clear, and accessible to use

WHAT I'D DO DIFFERENTLY

Research scope

If i were to approach the project again today, I would expand the research process beyond users and also speak with potential professional partners – such as pediatric nutrition specialist interested in using a platform like Mamam.
